Edward Snowden banned from entering United Kingdom

The UK authorities issued a circular, in accordance with which airlines were prohibited from transporting ex-CIA agent Edward Snowden to the territory of the United Kingdom.

According to a source in British diplomatic circles, the new rule applies to international airlines flying to the UK. Air carriers will have to pay the fine of 2,000 pounds for violating the prohibition.

Corresponding instructions have been sent to offices of airlines. Representatives of a number of airlines from Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore have confirmed the receipt of the information.

Snowden is wanted by U.S. justice for organizing the recent leaks of classified information on the activities of U.S. intelligence services, including about the collection of personal data of users on the Internet.
