Man who sent poison to Obama and two senators arrested

The FBI has found a perpetrator, who sent the U.S. president and two senators - Roger Wicker of Mississippi and Carl Levin of Michigan - letters with a deadly poison. The letters were intercepted during the screening of mail in Maryland.

The analysis showed that the envelope contained a suspicious substance. After a more detailed study, it was found that in the letter contained ricin - a toxin of herbal origin that causes death when ingested.

According to the FBI, the letters said the following: "To see a wrong and not expose it, is to become a silent partner to its continuance." In addition, both letters were signed: "I am KC and I approve this message."

On Wednesday, there was a partial evacuation conducted on Capitol Hill, after several suspicious envelopes were found there. Spokesman for the White House Jay Carney said that the letters had nothing to do with the recent terrorist attack in Boston.

It was later reported that the suspect was arrested. He appeared to be a resident of Mississippi, Kenneth Curtis, who already had a history of communication with law enforcement authorities. The man has been in one-sided correspondence with parliamentarians for a long time.
