Yulia Tymoshenko allowed to meet her associates

Ukrainian authorities allowed associates of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to visit her in her ward. The meeting was limited to only 1.5 hours, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine said.

The ministry stressed that the meeting would be limited in time because of numerous breaches of prison regulations committed by Tymoshenko. The Prison Service said that Tymoshenko has had 37 meetings since August 1. German doctors recommended, though, that Tymoshenko should limit her contact with outsiders, reports NTV.

"We would like to inform you again that according to recommendations of German doctors, a considerable number of meetings may have a negative impact on the process of rehabilitation of Yulia Tymoshenko. The doctors recommended to limit the number of meetings for the convicted during her stay at the stationary institution," said the agency.

The Penitentiary Service of Ukraine intends to transfer Yulia Tymoshenko from the hospital to the colony. Officials with the service say that Tymoshenko violates various rules of detention. A video appeared in which Tymoshenko is trying to have a meeting with her associates. At first, she was pounding her fists on the door, pulling it by the door handle. Afterwards, she took off her high-heel shoe and started hitting the glass with it.
