Exhibition of innovation&research "Brussels Eureka 2002" opens in Belgium

Brussels Eureka 2002, the 51st international exhibition of innovation, research and new technology, opens in the Belgian capital on Tuesday.

The exhibition, which runs until November 17, has gathered 800 participants from 40 countries. Of the approximately 1,200 inventions on display, some of are secured by patent and some are featured for the first time.

According to organizers, contracts to a total sum of up to 25 million euros are concluded in the framework of the exhibition every year.

Russia has participated in Brussels Eureka since 1990. In the past few years, its expositions were the largest and featured dozens of interesting and promising inventions, which returned home with a rich collection of prizes and medals.

The list of participants in the event includes the Russian education ministry. In 2001, it presented a vast exposition of innovations - one of the largest ones at the show. Many of its innovations were awarded medals.
