Five suspected terrorists detained in Denmark

Police held four men, who officials described as "militant Islamists" in Denmark and another in Sweden.

Authorities said the group planned to enter the Danish Jyllands-Posten news HQ and "kill as many as possible", Mirror.co.uk reports.

Lykke Soerensen, of Danish intelligence agency PET, said: "The court has complied with the prosecution's request for custody for four weeks, the first two in isolation.

"We believe there are grounds for isolation," she added, explaining there were concerns the three suspects might try to "affect the investigation and affect the witnesses".

While the court hearing was held behind closed doors, the PET intelligence agency added that the suspects would face charges of "attempted terrorism".

The three men held on remand are a 44-year-old Tunisian, a 29-year-old Swede born in Lebanon, and a 30-year-old Swede, according to Sky News.
