Wildfire Destroys Dozens of Homes in Colorado

41577.jpegHigh winds have helped spread roaring wildfires through the US state of Colorado forcing hundreds to evacuate their homes in the region.

A blaze broke out Monday in Colorado's Four Mile Canyon and rapidly spread across 3,500 acres of land due to 45-mph wind gusts.

Fire managers say about 1,000 homes have so far been evacuated. However, they do not know how many household structures have been lost to the fire, according to Press TV.

Over 100 firefighters continue to battle the fire and facilitate evacuations. Commander Rick Brough of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said that many structures were lost when gusts of up to 45 miles per hour buffeted flames in a pine forest, Daily Beast reports.
