Nigerian President Yar’Adua Umary Dies at 58 at His Residence

The Nigerian President Yar’Adua Umary, have died at 58 years on Wednesday at the presidential residence in Abuja after presenting a delicate state of health.

Nigerian President have returned last February to the country after being hospitalized for three months in Saudi Arabia. Since returning to Nigeria, Yar’Adua did not appear in public. Two delegations from Muslim and Christian religious separately visited him in April and said it was weak and he spoke with difficulty, News Provider reports.

Acting President Goodluck Joanthan this morning, precisely 12:30 am condoled with the first lady, Hijiya Turai Yar'Adua and family of the late president.

The Acting President has declared seven days of national mourning, even as today has been declared a public holiday, AllAfrica.com informs.
