In this case, though, the interview itself -- and not just the subject matter -- is a story.

That's because it was Obama's first interview with Fox News since his communications director referred to the station as wing of the Republican Party a month ago, HispanicBusiness.com reports.

It was also reported, President Obama gave an interview to Fox News correspondent Major Garrett in China on Wednesday, signaling what may be the end of a White House feud with the cable news channel. Obama administration critics have said Fox News isn't a true news outlet but a bullhorn for right-wing opinion. But the Center for Media and Public Affairs, a watchdog with conservative funding, says Fox's evening news is more balanced than CBS, NBC, and ABC, The Week Magazine reports.

The network had to go all the way to China to get it, but Fox News Channel scored an interview with President Barack Obama. FNC correspondent Major Garrett handled the Q part of the Q&A session.

The session went on the schedule for the 11/18/09 edition of “Special Report With Bret Baier." That program begins at 6:00PM Eastern.

According to a report by Politics Daily, Obama discussed a wide range of topics with Garrett, including the Mideast, jobs, Guantanamo, health care and the Stupak amendment and other issues, Radio Business Report reports.

In the meantime, FOXNews reports, while meeting with President Obama in Shanghai Monday, Chinese Party Secretary Yu Zhengsheng touted General Motors’ success in his country.

“The business of GM in Shanghai is pretty good. By the end of October this year their sales has (sic) increased by 40 percent over the same period of last year,” Yu told Mr. Obama. “I think that the fantastic performance here in Shanghai is definitely a boost to their business in the United States.”

The President agreed, “I think they can learn from their operations here in terms of increasing sales back in the United States,” FOXNews reports.
