Joseph Biden's wife gets into car accident

The wife of a member of the Democratic Party and the incumbent senior U.S. Senator from Delaware, Joseph Robinette Biden, has got in a light traffic accident. No serious injuries were reported.

The accident happened on Interstate 95 on Tuesday. Jill Tracy Jacobs was driving her 2001 BMW southbound in the left lane. Suddenly a tractor-trailer in the center lane moved into her lane and struck her vehicle.

Jacobs was taken to the hospital and soon released.

It’s not the first case in the life of the American lawyer and politician. Neilia Hunter, his first wife, and infant daughter died in a car accident shortly after he was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1972. His two young sons, Beau and Hunter, were seriously injured in the accident, but both eventually made full recoveries.
