Bayer's diabetes test strips overrate glucose level

By Margarita Snegireva. Bayer AG recalls Contour diabetes test strips from the markets of seven countries as a manufacturing problem occurred. These test show higher level of blood sugar that actually it is, FDA Website states.

Test results may come in 5-17 pct higher than actual blood sugar levels, it said, adding the issue affects only test strips used with Bayer's Contour TS blood sugar measuring device.

'The root cause of the problem has been identified, and corrective actions implemented including additional quality control measures to prevent recurrence,Bayer said in the statement.
