The plant of T2 Laboratories Inc shook an industrial district in Jacksonville, Florida, thus forcing evacuations and knocking out generators at a nearby electric utility.

Initially 6 people were reported missing at the plant, but three were found. At least one person was taken to a hospital. No details on injuries were given.

T2 Labs specializes in the design and manufacture of low environmental impact specialty chemicals that replace conventional toxic and dangerous industrial chemicals. With a new manufacturing facility in Jacksonville Florida , T2 Labs is recognized as the leader in alternative chemical technology.

Witnesses described that debris from the afternoon explosion flew several stories into the air and there was much smoke.
