UEFA sets date for brawl appeal by Valencia, Inter players

Valencia and Inter Milan players will have their appeals hearing on March 28 after a brawl during a Champions League game.

UEFA said Tuesday the hearing will be at its headquarters in Switzerland.

Both teams appealed penalties handed down by European soccer's governing body last week. Valencia and Inter Milan were each fined 250,000 Swiss francs (EUR155,000; US$206,000), while Valencia defender David Navarro, who broke Nicolas Burdisso's nose with a punch, was suspended for seven months.

The fight occurred at Valencia during the second leg, second round match on March 6. Inter midfielder Burdisso attacked Valencia defender Carlos Marchena at the final whistle, sparking the brawl, reports AP.

Marchena, as well as Inter's Burdisso, Maicon, Ivan Cordoba and Julio Cruz were suspended for between two and six games.
