French team praise Olympic Sochi infrastructure and snow

Members of the French Olympic team have already shared their impressions of the Olympic Sochi and the level of competition.

Even before the Olympic Games, the Chairman Coordination Commission for the preparation of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, famous French skier Jean-Claude Killy, officially stated that the scale of the Olympic Games in Sochi was impressive.

Anthony Benna, world bronze medalist in men's freestyle, praised the quality of ski slopes and snow in Sochi. The athlete noted that snow in Sochi was too good.

"This is real winter snow, we are lucky compared to last year (during training), when there was no snow at all. We come in the evening and the track is perfect," he said.

Benna's colleagues were also impressed with the level of preparation for winter competitions. Vice champion of the Continental Cup, Julie Claire, noted that the Olympic Village was almost twice as big as the place where she lives. She was very impressed with Sochi. She admitted that in general the Sochi Olympics did not meet her most daring expectations.

Olympic champion Jason Lamy Chappuis joined his colleague, saying that all the buildings he saw in the city impressed him a lot. Skier Lea Lemare said that the organization of the Olympic village was brilliant. It's like living in heaven, she said.

Last year's silver medalist at World Cup in Sochi, Jean Aurore, (ski sprint) also shared some impressions of the Olympics. She was told that some athletes were disappointed in the location of the Games. When asked if there was something that she disliked, Aurore said she did not understand the frustration of her colleagues. She said that she found everything perfectly comfortable.

Aurore noted that, in general, everything was ready as early as last year;  organizers only completed a few tracks.

A representative of the IOC, three-time Olympic champion, canoeist Tony Estange, said that infrastructure of the Sochi Olympics was incredible and he had no negative experiences.
