Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova has moved to second place in the updated rankings of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), giving way to Serena Williams of the United States.
In a new table of ranks of WTA best tennis players in the world, top spot was taken by the American athlete. Serena Williams has 11,115 ranking points. Sharapova was placed on the second position with 10,690 points. The third spot belongs to Victoria Azarenka of Belarus (8,510 points).
As in the rankings published a week ago, the top five list also includes Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland and Na Li of China.
