Yakutia's judo athletes bring four medals to republic

Judo athletes from Yakutia won four medals at the international tournament "Olympic Games - Victory Cup 2012". The sports event took place in St. Petersburg.

Dilbara Salkarbek (weight category under 52 kg) won the gold medal. The bronze went to Katya Biryukova (under 44 kg), Artyom Davydenko (under 81 kg) from Yakutsk and Angelika Boikova (under 70kg) from Olekminsk.

The young athletes will soon take part in the Fifth International Sports Games "Children of Asia."

Vice President of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Dmitry Glushko, said that more than a thousand athletes from foreign countries were going to come to Yakutia to take part in the Games. For the time being, the organizers of the Games have already received 26 bids from foreign delegations. Six other countries have not given the final answer yet. The number of foreign athletes may eventually exceed 1,100 people. The largest delegations are expected from India, China and Kazakhstan. The number of members in each of those delegations may exceed 200 people.
