The boxer made the announcement during an interview with TVi channel. The 40-year-old Klitschko said that his fan should not be upset with his decision. He said that his brother Wladimir was five years younger than him, "so he will continue fighting for a long time," Korrespondent.net said.

Vitali Klitschko conducted 45 fights on the professional ring and finished 40 of them halfway. The athlete lost only two fights in his career, but it happened because of the injuries, which he had previously suffered

The Klitschko brothers own most prestige titles in the boxing world. Wladimir holds the championship titles of the IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO. Vitali is a WBC champion.

In 2005, Vitali started doing politics. In April 2010, he chaired the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reforms party (UDAR). In 2006, he ran for the position of the mayor of Kiev, but came second in the race. In the future, Vitali Klitschko is going to run for the Ukrainian presidency.
