Uruguay came out stronger in the opening minutes, Germany reacting with two corners on 10’, growing stronger until on 19’, Bastian Schweinsteiger sent a rocket towards Uruguay’s goalmouth, Muslera saved but the ball rolled to Thomas Muller. 1-0. Lack of back-up from the Uruguay defence.

25’, Forlan header blocked; 28’, 1-1. Edinson Cavani received a through-ball and rifled it into the back of Butt’s net. Uruguay had another excellent opportunity to score, on 42’, when Suarez was alone in front of Butt, but shot wide.

Second half, Uruguay left the blocks roaring. 52’ Forlan, 2-1. Germany reacted, 56’ 2-2, Muslera came out of his area, Jansen fired in. Uruguay were playing end-to-end soccer with Germany, on 63’, Butt saved a shot from Suarez…but in the end Germany scored the 3-2, Khedira on 82’.

In the lastminute of the game, Forlan sent his free kick against the bar. However, Uruguay won many friends in FIFA 2010, excellent teamwork, wonderful passing football and immense courage. Hasta mañana!
