Angelina Jolie arrives in Mumbai to shoot movie about slain American reporter

Actress Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt went sightseeing over the weekend in Mumbai, where Jolie was to shoot scenes for a movie about slain journalist Daniel Pearl who had lived and worked in India's financial capital.

Leading newspapers published pictures of son Maddox perched on Pitt's shoulders and Jolie carrying daughter Zahara as they stepped out of their luxury hotel in downtown Mumbai on Sunday.

They visited a popular Mumbai restaurant where Pearl, also a musician, often played violin or mandolin with a group of friends.

Jolie and Pitt, accompanied by their three children Maddox, 5, 18-month-old Zahara and 5-month-old Shiloh Nouvel arrived in Mumbai after shooting the movie for nearly a month in the western Indian city of Pune.

Pune was chosen because of its resemblance to Karachi, Pakistan's financial center, where Pearl was abducted and killed in 2002 while researching a story on Islamic militancy.

Last week during a break in shooting for "A Mighty Heart," Jolie visited an Afghan Sikh refugee camp and met a refugee family from Myanmar in New Delhi.

The movie is based on an adaptation of Mariane Pearl's book, "A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl."

Jolie plays Mariane Pearl and Dan Futterman portrays Daniel Pearl, reports AP.

The movie is co-produced by Plan B, a production company founded by Pitt and his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Aniston.
