Hundreds of people in Bulgaria spent their night without electricity following the heavy snowfall, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The weight of thick ice and snow damaged electric poles, throwing seventy seven settlements, mostly in Southern Bulgaria, into darkness.
Life is gradually getting back to normal as the snowfall stopped. The state of emergency, which was declared in the Banite, the district of Smolyan, has been called off.
The treacherous road conditions caused dozens of accidents over the last few days, Sofia News Agency reports.
