Star players Brian Lara, Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan were among 30 players invited on Tuesday to make themselves available for West Indies' tour of Australia.
Captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul also was asked to join the three-test tour from Oct. 27 to Dec. 2. However, players are required to sign a letter of intent to play by next Monday. The West Indies Cricket Board did not indicate the size of the touring party to Australia.
Lara, Gayle and Sarwan were among 10 players who were axed from the July-August tour of Sri Lanka because of a contract dispute with the board. West Indies lost both tests and three of four one-dayers. West Indies will hold a training camp in Barbados from Sept. 24-30, AP reported.
