Ulyanova wins gold at European weightlifting championships

Svetlana Ulyanova of Russia won the gold medal Tuesday in the women's 48-kilogram category at the European Weightlifting Championships.

Ulyanova lifted 77.5 kilograms in the snatch and 100 kg in the clean and jerk to total 177.5.

Rebeca Sires of Spain won the silver with a combined 175 kg (80-95), while Bulgaria's Donka Mincheva won the bronze at 165 kg (72.5-92.5).
