A bear escaped from the circus during the show last Sunday in the city of Kemerovo, SE of Novosibirsk. The animal was part of the Nikulin Circus Company that was touring the city, said the spokesperson for the local rescue service.
The bear took a leap to freedom by breaking a triplex glass of the window. He walked along the street-car tracks of Sobornaya street and then crossed the Iskitimka River to emerge in a dead alley at Michurin street where he eventually got caught by three animal trainers, circus staff and personnel of the city rescue service.
The streets of the city were cordoned off by traffic police during the hot pursuit of the performer "on the run," according to Interfax News Agency.
"One of the animal trainers was slightly injured while pursuing the animal. He jumped in through the window broken by the bear," said the spokesperson for the local rescue service. Specialists call the sudden twist in the bear’s behavior a "springtime exacerbation."
The 23-year-old athlete was returning to the base through the forest after fishing on the Irtysh River. There were two other fishermen with him
