Ukraine produces cannabis and poppy ice cream

A court of the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don outlawed two kinds of Ukrainian ice cream called "Your Dose of Cannabis" and "The Poppy Joke." The court ruled that such names advertised narcotics. In addition, the sellers of "narcotic ice creams" will be called to account for such outrageous marketing, a local department of the federal service for control over the drug circulation said.

According to the Russian law about advertising and the law about narcotic and psychotropic substances, the advertising of narcotic substances for purposes other than medical is prohibited. That is why the Rostov department of the anti-drug federal service issued a notification to the firm, which had arranged a large delivery of the two ice creams from Ukraine to Rostov-on-Don.

If the company ignores the warning and sells "Your Dose of Cannabis" and "The Poppy Joke" ice creams, it will be called to account on the allegation of drugs propaganda. The 700-kilogram shipment of the Ukrainian ice cream was arrested in the beginning of June. The expertise proved that there were no narcotic substances used with other ingredients. The owner of the arrested shipment said that the ice cream had been produced within the scope of the anti-drug campaign in Ukraine. The cannabis and poppy ice cream is available in Ukrainian shops nationwide.
