Russia, the only egg-hurtling country

Krasnaya Polyana, a resort outside Sochi, port and resort city on Black Sea, hosted a raw egg-hurtling contest.

The organisation committee of the tournament explained that, according to the rules, athletes must compete in pairs, one throwing an egg and the other trying to catch it. To win, one must catch the egg without breaking it.

Two taxi drivers won the contest. Their egg flew the impressive 60 metres, and then was safely caught.

Officials said that such competitions are never held elsewhere in the world.
