Royal remains buried in 1998

Prince Dimitry Romanov is positive that the Petropavlovskaya fortress, serving as the Russian royal crypt since the era of Peter the Great, gave last refuge to the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II.

Prince Dimitry Romanov told reporters Wednesday that his blood was examined five years ago, which helped verify authenticity of the royal remains.

The Prince believes that, "even if some other people are buried in the fortress, it is certainly a family of martyrs who anguished in horrible times when brothers slew brothers." The Prince described the great impression he had when visiting Yekaterinburg, including the former Ipatyev mansion and the mine shafts where the remains were discovered.
