Russian police, religious organizations to set up a joint working group

The Russian interior ministry and religious organizations will set up a joint working group for solving problems connected with religious confessions' activities. The decision was taken at the Thursday meeting of the ministry's leaders with representatives of the country's main confessions.

The working group will be set up for efficient exchange of information, joint defining of extremist activities, as well as for solving possession and inter-confession issues, said deputy interior minister Sergei Vasilyev.

He deemed as terrorism the anti-Semitic placards with mines that had started appearing in different Russian cities. Recent months have seen 7 similar incidents. The ministry will put an end to such crimes, Vasilyev promised.
