UN acknowledges liberal changes in Russia society

Russian society has become more liberal with regard to political and cultural preferences, reads a recently-released UN report on the development of human potential in the Russian Federation. The document drawn up by the UN Development Programme, emphasises that young Russians have more liberal positions and are more politically and socially tolerant compared to older generations. The document in particular states that "the youth is more tolerant with regard to inter-generation relations than older people." Researchers believe that this signifies "social and cultural changes towards more liberal political and cultural preferences." Experts think that Russia is "undergoing considerable social and political changes related to, primarily, the openness of the society and Russia's entry into the global international society."
