Chernobyl: Visual Art and Information Exhibition Opens in Lower Saxony, Germany

In Germany, in the town of Gross Denkt, Lower Saxony, an exhibition entitled Chernobyl: Visual Art and Information opened on June 18. According to the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, the exhibition was prepared by the Committee on the Consequences of the Chernobyl Catastrophe of the Ministry of Emergencies of the republic and supported by the Embassy of Belarus in Germany and the German charity The Chernobyl Initiative in the Pastorate of Schepenstedt. Exhibited are paintings by Belorussian artists, children's drawings, sculptures and information. The central idea of the exhibition is the necessity of international cooperation aiming at the minimisation of the consequences of the catastrophic accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant that the republic of Belarus cannot cope with alone.

The speakers at the opening ceremony were representatives from the Committee on the Consequences of the Chernobyl Catastrophe, the Embassy of Belarus in Germany, and Paul Koch, the Chairman of The Chernobyl Initiative in the Pastorate of Schepenstedt.
