The Titanic sank in Zaporozhye (Ukraine)

Designer Vladimir Gordeichenko performed a catastrophe of a three-meter cardboard copy of the Titanic. According to Interfax-Ukraine, the boat was floated and later sank on one of the reservoirs in Zaporozhye (Ukraine).

Vladimir Gordeichenko, who is working as an assistant at the philosophy faculty of Zaporozhye state technical university, is keen on making boat models. Several years ago he had made his Titanic and fixed it above the bed. But, in his words, it was an unpleasant feeling to wake up under the three-meter bulky object. By the way, the boat model emitted too much energy.

That is why it was decided to destroy the new Titanic the same way its huge prototype had died in 1912. Together with his friends Vladimir Gordeichenko took the cardboard model to the middle of a bay in Zaporozhye and submerged it. Over 50 spectators and the press watched the sinking.

A piece of cardboard was used as an iceberg, that as we know from the history was the cause of the Titanic’s tragedy. At first, Ukrainian Titanic would not sink, and organizers of the action had to load the model with bricks. The men were finally a success: the boat got wet and went to the bottom.

The designer of the cardboard vessel and organizer of the sinking told journalists, the new Titanic had been made of ecologically pure materials that would decay in a natural way and cause no damage to Dnieper ecology.
