Week of Orthodox Culture in Austria

The Week of Orthodox Culture, timed to the Day of Enthronement of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexis II, opened in Austria on Monday.

Treasures from the Moscow Patriarchy's depositaries will be exhibited as part of the Week.

The expositions, organised all over Austria, present icons, golden embroidery, fretwork and jewellery.

Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Graz, Linz and other large Austrian cities will host concerts of monastery choirs, including not only traditional church psalms, but also secular classical music. Performances of folklore ensembles and young Russian musicians and presentation of Russian monastery cuisine are also being planned.

The Week of Orthodox Culture in Austria will last till June 20.
