Russia's interior ministry trying to track down participants in Sunday violence in Moscow

The Russian interior ministry is taking measures to track down participants in the Sunday violence in the center of Moscow, told journalists Vitaly Mozyakov, who heads the Investigating Department of the Russian interior ministry.

According to Mozyakov, the ministry set up 16 investigating groups to inquire into the incident. As of this moment, 113 people have been detained on suspicion.

Mozyakov said law enforcers had sought out 15 of the most active participants in the street violence -- the ones who actually participated in the pogroms -- and will open criminal cases against them. At the same time, investigators "have no information that the melees were prepared beforehand, so it is too early to speak about extremism," said Mozyakov.
