International Family Day in Moscow

On Wednesday, May 15th, the whole world celebrates Family Day. The Family and Youth Committee of the Moscow Government told a RIA Novosti correspondent that a large-scale programme of celebrations would be held on this day in the capital. The Moscow families will be honoured at the circus on Tsevetnoi Boulevard, where public organisations' leaders and winners of various family-supporting competitions would convene. Moscow's 10 best families will receive purses and the Mayor's thanks in the framework of the celebration. Once the formal part is concluded, the young Muscovites, their dads and moms, grannies and grandpas can see a fascinating circus performance. Family Day will be celebrated in the sportive way at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre - by a charity family marathon "Sports Against Drugs". The holiday's celebration on the Vorobievy Hills will also be concentrated on promoting a healthy lifestyle. Gourmets can enjoy delicacies at a culinary competition in Zelenorgad (Moscow's overspill town). Both young and experienced couples can find entertainment at a family festival in the Gorky Park. The international conference "Family - a Hope for Tomorrow" will be held at the Krasny Oktiabr culture palace. The Committee officials noted that parties, concerts, competitions of children's painting and other entertainment will be held in all districts of Moscow.
