Emergency situation at the Baikonur cosmodrome

An emergency situation occurred at the Baikonur cosmodrome (a cosmodrome in the territory of Kazakhstan rented by Russia), people are injured. According to information provided to the ORT TV channel by Marina Rykhlina, chief of the press service of the Emergencies Ministry, on Sunday at midday during the operation to clean the roof of one of the building at Baikonur, three sections of it suddenly collapsed. The size of the roof is 100 x 200 metres. Eight people are supposed to remain under the obstructions. The rescue operation is hindered by the fact that the 70-80-metre-high walls are extremely unstable. An IL-76 with rescuers and specialists flew from Moscow to Baikonur.
