Residence of Russian Grandpa Frost, Western Santa Claus to Open in St. Petersburg

As Vladimir Yakovlev the Mayor of St. Petersburg, said during his meeting with Hannele Pokka, the Governor of Lapland, the residence of Russian Grandpa Frost and Western Santa Claus will be opened in St. Petersburg by the city's tercentenary. It will be located in the Russian Village, now under construction, near the state Palace of Congresses complex (Konstantin's Palace). The opening of the residence in St. Petersburg is being discussed. Mrs. Pokka said to her cooperation, in whatever the spheres, between St. Petersburg and Lapland seemed very interesting yet the cooperation between Grandpa Frost and Santa Claus, being 'somewhat mystical', deserved special attention. Mr. Yakovlev believes, a project connecting the town of Veliky Ustyg, the Vologda Region, the homeland of Grandpa Frost, and Lapland, the home of Santa Claus, should attract tourists to the equidistant city of St. Petersburg.
