Vladimir Putin lays wreath on Tomb of Unknown Soldier near Kremlin Wall

On the eve of the Victory Day, which is celebrated in Russia on May 9th, Russian President Vladimir Putin laid a wreath on the Tomb of an Unknown Soldier located near the Kremlin Wall in the Alexandrovsky Garden. The orchestra of the Presidential Regiment played the hymn of the Russian Federation. Later on, the Guard of Honour Company of the Commandant's Regiment consisting of troops representing all arms and services of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as of cadets from military colleges and academies, marched near the Tomb. The solemn ceremony was held with the participation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, Chief of the Kremlin administration Alexander Voloshin, Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov, Chairman of the State Duma /the lower chamber of the Russian parliament/ Gennady Seleznyov, Chairs of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts of the Russian Federation Marat Baglai and Vyacheslav Lebedev respectively, heads of Russian ministries, legislators and veterans of World War II.
