Moscow to host junior sports games

Beginning with next Wednesday, May 15th, junior sportsmen from CIS countries, Russia, its regions and the Baltic states will start to gather in Moscow to take part in the Youth Games-2002 to be held in the Russian capital on June 14th-24th. The large-scale event will gather 5,687 sportsmen and be of a social nature as well. The sportsmen will compete in 17 sports, including swimming, sambo (unarmed self-defence), sports dancing and horseracing. Three thousand referees will judge at the competitions. The Youth Games will be taking place in 34 sports facilities of Moscow, including the Olimpiysky and Luzhniki sports complexes, the TsSKA and Dynamo stadiums as well as many football fields of the Moscow region.
