About 5,000 People In Chechnya Need Orthopaedic Prostheses

About 5,000 people, including 1,870 children, in Chechnya need orthopaedic prostheses. As the department head of the Chechen Ministry of Labour and Social Development, Magomed Musayev, said on Tuesday, the other day the republican Ministry of Labour and Social Development has issued an order to organise an orthopaedic service to the population. The federal ministry has allocated for these purposes 1,270,000 roubles (1 dollar approximately equals 28.8 roubles). This money will be spent on restoring the orthopaedic enterprise in Grozny. At the present time, the people who need orthopaedic prostheses are sent to Rostov-on-Don for this purpose. -O- (kos/kaf) 08/05/01 14:14
