US weekly Newsweek has decided to suspend cooperation with the Russian magazine Itogi. According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, Newsweek announced it would review this question after the facts become clearer. Newsweek editorial staff disseminated a statement in Washington and New York. The statement qualifies editorial staff changes in Itogi as serious and arousing concern. The weekly Newsweek is published by The Washington Post newspaper and is a partner of the Itogi magazine. The two magazines agreed to exchange pages, though Newsweek is not an investor.
