Rugby: Russia finishes third in 6 nations B

Russia finished third in the six nations B tournament after its human tanks crushed Portugal 38-13 in Lousa, Portugal.

The physical preparation of the Russian team had Portugal reeling from the start of the match, the host 15 looking frightened and disorganised as the much bigger Russian team powered through the centre and down the wings to demolish any hope of a Portuguese victory.

Winning 25-3 at the interval with three converted tries and two penalties, the Russian team allowed Portugal to come back into the game in the second half, but never allowed them to get near to threatening the result.

The 6 nations A (France, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Italy) finished with France obtaining the gramd Slam and the six nations B ended with Romania winning (28 points), followed by Georgia (27), Russia (23), Spain (16), Portugal (16) and the Netherlands (10).
