Aeroflot Hikes Ticket Prices

Russia's Aeroflot airline has hiked ticket prices for a number of destinations starting this week. The hikes mostly applied to flights to South East Asia and the Middle East. Company sources said the increase is intended to offset more extensive ticket insurance in the wake of the recent acts of terrorism in the US in the United States and the launch of the military operation in Afghanistan. The ticket prices for the destinations in question have increased by $10-40. There were no hikes in ticket prices for the United States, Europe, or the CIS. Prices for domestic flights have seen some increases too. The company attributes the heavier pricing to decreased demand for plane tickets over the fall and winter.
