Exhibition Representing Paintings From Hermitage Collection (st. Petersburg) To Open In Las Vegas Sunday

The exhibition "Masterpieces and Great Collectors: Impressionist and Modern Painting of the Hermitage Collection and Guggenheim Museum" is to open in the new Hermitage Guggenheim Museum in the centre of Las Vegas Sunday. Directors of the Hermitage and Guggenheim Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky and Thomas Krens will participate in the opening ceremony, the press service of the Hermitage /one of the world's largest art and cultural-historic museums/ told RIA Novosti. The exposition represents 42 paintings of impressionists, post-impressionists and modernists of the two museums. The Hermitage brought 21 pictures for this exhibition. Visitors of the new museum may see, for instance, Matisse's "Nature Morte a "La Danse", "Moroccan in Green", "Portrait of Madame Matisse", Renoir's "Woman in Black", Cezanne's "Self-Portrait", Gaugin's "Scene" and other famous paintings. The paintings will return to St. Petersburg only in six months.
