Geneva Forum Intends To Set Up Humanitarian Coalition For Rendering Aid To Afghanistan's Population

It was suggested at the humanitarian forum in Geneva that a humanitarian coalition be set up for rendering aid to the population of Afghanistan. Yuri Vorobyov, first deputy minister for Emergencies of Russia, said at a Friday press conference that the coalition will be created under the aegis of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Apart from the European Union, the coalition will probably also include Russia, the USA and Switzerland. These countries' resources will be concentrated on rendering assistance to the population of Afghanistan, stressed Yuri Vorobyev. Vorobyev said that Russia is currently taking part in helping the population of Afghanistan both as a separate state and as member of international bodies.
