Russian Mail Tested For Anthrax Spores

About 50,000 police inspectors as well as other law-enforcement officers are busy handling mail to test it for anthrax spores, said Tuesday Deputy Interior Minister Alexander Chekalin, chief of the public security service. According to him, all letters and parcels arriving at post-offices throughout the country are checked. Though Russia has not yet registered a single post-inflicted anthrax case, preventive measures should be taken, said Chekalin.
