Shooting And Murder Overtake Moscow Streets

A triple murder in southwest Moscow has once again made the Russian capital a scene of a high-profile killing. According to the city's law enforcement officials, around 7 p.m. Moscow time, an identified perpetrator fired an automatic weapon at three people and killed them all on site. Their identities have not yet been established. The gunman drove away from the scene in a blue car with no license plates. The triple murder followed hard on the heels of an equally high-profile murder earlier in the day of a senior city hall official in Moscow's Western District. Assassins gunned down the public servant at the Prefecture entrance, where his office was based. Moscow police have come in for mounting public criticism over their inept handling of a new crime wave on the streets. The cash-strapped police force has cited low pay and poor logistics.
