President Putin Sends Greeting To Participants And Guests Of World Chess Championship

The presidential press service reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a greeting to participants and guests of the World Chess Championship, which is underway in Moscow's Kremlin Palace of Congresses. "It is symbolic that this grand tournament is taking place in Russia, the country whose unique school of chess has longstanding victorious traditions," the greeting reads. "Chess is not just a sport. Chess makes one wiser and more far-sighted. It helps one to objectively assess a situation and think out the future moves. However, the main thing is that chess makes one tougher."
