Vladivostok deputies correct position of tiger tail on the city’s emblem

The tiger has been pictured on the emblem of the city Vladivistok since 1883. However, now, it suddenly stopped satisfying the deputies of the City Duma. The deputies said the animal’s “look” was “not very friendly” and its tail was not placed correctly.

The parliamentarians approved of a new version of the city’s symbol. After the “plastic surgery,” the tiger muzzle became “friendly-foolish,” though what is more interesting, it now looks more like a rhinoceros, as one of the deputies noticed. While the tail now faces the opposite direction, in full correspondence with heraldic rules. In general, not only the tiger was aesthetically criticized by the deputies. According to them, the anchor, the crown, and the Alexandrine ribbon are incorrectly located as well. Therefore, at the moment, the alteration of the emblem is not completed. The modified emblem will appear on the city administration’s documents only after the heraldic researches of the deputies are finished. After this is completed, the city administration should be ready for big expenses: new letterheads, stamps, and cliches. Translated by Vera Solovieva
