Warsaw: Vladimir Putin Laid Wreaths To Tomb Of Unknown Soldier

Russian president Vladimir Putin laid wreaths to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw on Wednesday. According to a RIA Novosti correspondent, the ceremony began with the military band playing Russia's national anthem. The wreath of fir tree branches with white, blue and red flowers was laid to the Eternal Flame. Vladimir Putin bent over, arranged ribbons of the wreath and remained motionless for a minute. Then the military band played the Polish anthem. After the ceremony, Vladimir Putin was briefed on the history of this memorial. A guard of honour representing all services of Wojsko Polskoje /the Polish Armed Forces/ was lined up in the Square of Unknown Soldier. Escorting the Russian president were members of the Russian delegation and officials of the Warsaw government.
