Wrestlers from 26 countries to take part in Moscow International Judo Tournament

Judo wrestlers from 26 countries have applied for participation in the 9-th Moscow International Judo Tournament scheduled to start shortly in the Russian capital.

The European Judo Association has assigned the tournament the highest "Super-A" category this year. There are only two other "Super-A" judo tournaments in the world, one in Paris, France and the other in Wuppertal, Germany.

The Russian team will line up its best athletes, including world champion Vitaly Makarov, winner of two world judo titles Alexander Mikhailin and holder of four European gold medals Tamerlan Tmenov. A representative of the tournament's organizing committee told RIA Novosti that the Russian team would confront the toughest competition from judo wrestlers of Japan, France, Korea, Iran and some other countries.
