Russia's New Passenger Airliner Tu-214 Reaches International Airways

The new Russian passenger airliner Tu-214 of a new generation has performed the first regular flight on the international airway Khabarovsk-Niigata-Khabarovsk, general director of the Dalavia airline Pavel Sevastyanov told a press conference on Tuesday. In a comment on this event, Sevastyanov said that Dalavia is the first Russian airline to have on lease two Tu-214 jetliners, manufactured in Kazan. They do service on the Khabarovsk-Moscow-Khabarovsk route. To Sevastyanov, the Tu-214 has won good renown with pilots and passengers. Even the Niigata runway, which proves to be short for the Il-62 and other jumbos, is long enough for the Tu-214. Next year the Tu-214 will begin service on passenger routes to South Korea, China and Israel.
