Programmes To Preserve Russia's Scientific Potential

The key task facing the Russian science is to preserve scientific potential and develop innovation programmes, Ilya Klebanov, vice-premier of the Russian government, stated. According to him, the government will soon adopt a resolution on support for academic youth. He also said that a conference involving ministries of education and industry and technologies will be held January 8, 2002. The conference will discuss main directions in scientific sphere for the next 8-10 years. The results of the conference will be submitted to the council for science under the Russian president for consideration, Ilya Klebanov said. He also reported that in 2002 state orders for scientific organisations will be formed.
